Sam Wilson’s Captain America Exits Avengers Campus Ahead of ‘Marvel’s Doomsday’
Sam Wilson’s Captain America has officially concluded his run at Disney California Adventure, with the character no longer scheduled for appearances within Avengers Campus.

The hero’s final flight reportedly took place on Saturday, Jan. 24, marking the end of Sam Wilson’s tenure as a resident of Avengers Campus. Previously, the character was a staple of the land’s atmosphere, appearing both as a meet-and-greet hero and a lead in the Avengers Assemble stunt show. The latter’s closure last spring was part of a broader series of entertainment budget cuts across Disney California Adventure.
This departure arrives as the MCU prepares for Avengers: Doomsday, a landmark film featuring the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers alongside Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Mackie’s Captain America was last seen on the big screen in February 2025 with the release of Captain America: Brave New World.
