During the historical and exceptional closure of the Disneyland Paris resort, which is due to open July 15th! Disneyland Paris donates tones of food and medical supplies valuing over 1.5 million euros. During the closure, teams have been working around the clock and behind the scenes to make this possible. Assisted by Disney VoluntEARS, together they have helped local associations and healthcare institutions by donating more than 100 tons of food, protective gear and other medical supplies!
This significant donation is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community, which would not have been achieved without the incredible dedication from the Cast Members working behind the scenes alongside Disney VoluntEARS. By providing this support, they were able to help those most in need.
Through this initiative, Disneyland Paris donates many food supplies, including fruit, vegetables, snacks, dairy products, drinks, sweets and much more were redistributed to national associations including Secours Populaire Français, the Red Cross, Restaurants du Coeur and local social grocery stores such as Oasis à Serris, supporting those that need it most. Alongside this, Disneyland Paris also donated protective medical equipment such as masks to the Seine-et-Marne prefecture, who redistributed the supplies according to the needs of the department’s hospitals. Furthermore, Hospitals and EHPADs in the Île-de-France region benefited from donations, such as rain ponchos, which were distributed to healthcare professionals in collaboration with Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris – Hôpitaux de France.
That’s not all- Disney VoluntEARS also distributed protective masks to the community of Serris, a town near Disneyland Paris, as well as supported schools upon reopening, by helping teachers in activities and offering children magical moments with fun workshops.
The Disney VoluntEARS also created small educational tutorials from their homes, to support children currently hospitalized during confinement. These videos were accompanied by supply kits to practice the tutorials and were distributed accordingly. Additionally, several thousand toys were distributed to children in hospitals.These actions are all part of Disneyland Paris’ social responsibility approach, which has been in place since its opening in 1992. Providing support to associations and neighboring local authorities working with children and families as well as to protect the environment.
