Legendary Disneyland cast member, Maynard Smith, is retiring. After 28 years of working attractions like Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion, he will be retiring from cast member life.

Maynard has become well known over the years at Disneyland. Guests know him for his comic impressions and antics and have even started to seek him out when visiting the park.
Smith shared on Wednesday that he will be retiring April 1st. He and his ”twin brothers”, what he calls his alter egos, will be devoting more time to his art.

“Our hope is that we will be able to fulfill a longtime dream of combining visual arts and humorous storytelling (illustrated children’s books, greeting cards and short videos),” he wrote in an announcement to his fans. “We will also be considering other creative opportunities, like voice-over for family-friendly productions, commercials, etc.”
