Disney XD to Cancel ‘DuckTales‘ Reboot Series. Though the COVID-19 Pandemic has caused production on films and television series to come to a stand still many studios have adapted to a “work from home” method to continue work on various entertainment projects. However, there have been plenty of series and movies that have been cancelled due to the production delays as well. One such casualty may be Disney XD’s DuckTales reboot series.

Collider‘s Drew Taylor is the main source of the suspected cancellation. Siting the animation offices have yet to reopen and due to the standard animation scheduling this would indicate that either the series is being indefinitely delayed or shelved entirely.

Taylor shared to Twitter, “I love seeing the #RenewDuckTales2017 hashtag but regretfully inform you that the show is very much done and has been done for a little while now. Not sure why Disney Channel has yet to announce this, but it’s the truth.”

When asked by another user “How do you know [Season 3] is the final one?” to which Taylor replied, “Because the offices haven’t been open for a while now (somebody told me when they closed up shop) and most of the key creative talents have moved onto other, equally exciting projects!”

Disney and Disney XD have yet to announce a formal cancellation for the series, but with production on the series reportedly at a stand still it’s likely we will hear an update on the future of the series fairly soon. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney!
