Disney Springs and EPCOT Restaurant Workers File Complaint Against Patina Group, Citing Code of Conduct Concerns
A group of unionized restaurant workers from several dining locations at Walt Disney World is filing a formal complaint against the Patina Restaurant Group, alleging violations of The Walt Disney Company’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct. The complaint, filed by members of UNITE HERE Local 737, centers around concerns related to labor practices and workplace treatment, and calls on Disney to investigate and enforce its corporate standards.

The employees involved work at various Patina-operated restaurants at Disney Springs and EPCOT, including well-known locations such as Morimoto Asia, The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, Via Napoli, and Space 220. While these restaurants are physically located on Disney property, it is important to note that they are not owned or operated by Disney. Patina Group is a third-party vendor and a subsidiary of Delaware North, which independently manages the restaurants and employs their staff.
The union’s complaint focuses on three key areas outlined in Disney’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct:
- Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
- Compliance with Applicable Laws
- Sexual Harassment and Abuse
The action follows a series of reported events over the past year, including worker-led calls for union recognition and a high-profile petition regarding the termination of an employee who reported sexual harassment. Earlier this year, workers gathered during Disney Springs’ “Ramen Rumble” event to raise awareness about the employee’s firing, drawing attention to what they view as a pattern of mishandled grievances and workplace issues. This action also comes on the heels of the workers at the Italy Pavilion at EPCOT meeting to lay out demands for a new contract.
As part of their campaign, union members held a press conference outside Disney’s Labor Relations office at 1675 Buena Vista Drive. Wearing red union shirts, participants presented what they described as a courtroom-style display, comparing excerpts from Disney’s Code of Conduct to alleged workplace conditions within Patina-managed locations.

The union is not accusing Disney of direct wrongdoing, but rather calling on the company to uphold the standards it has outlined for all vendors and licensees that operate within its properties. Disney’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct is a corporate responsibility document designed to ensure safe, respectful, and lawful working conditions across all segments of its extended business operations.
At the time of this article’s publication, Disney has not issued an official comment regarding the complaint. Similarly, Patina Group and Delaware North have not responded publicly to the allegations.
