Attraction closures and refurbishments happen regularly at Disney theme parks. If you are heading to Walt Disney World in January, you’ll want to know what attractions will be unavailable during your visit. Here are the current closures scheduled for next month.

Magic Kingdom
- Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom will be closed for routine maintenance from January 10 to February 10, 2022. This closure has nothing to do with the Princess and the Frog retheme.
- Walt Disney World Railroad remains closed while construction is done on the new TRON Lightcycle Run attraction in Tomorrowland. There is no reopening date as of yet.
Epcot
- Souk-al-Magreb is a small merchandise shop in the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot. The shop is currently closed and is set to reopen on February 6, 2022.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will be closed for refurbishment from January 4 to mid-April, 2022. The guest-favorite attraction will be missed during this lengthy closure.

Resort Pools
Two pools will be closed at two Disney World Resort hotels in January.
- Flippin’ Fins Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be closed for refurbishment from early January 2022 through late February 2022.
- The Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village will be closed for refurbishment from January 2022 through April 2022.
Disney Skyliner
The Disney Skyliner will also be closed for a few days in January. From January 23-28, 2022, Disney Skyliner service between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and EPCOT will be out of operation due to refurbishment.
