If you’ve ever dreamed of helping keep the magic running behind the scenes, Walt Disney World is opening the doors to a unique hiring event later this month that could land you a role working directly on park attractions. Disney’s Facility Operating Services team is hosting an in-person hiring event on April 28, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Walt Disney World Casting Services Center. The focus is on filling full-time Attraction Mechanic roles, and qualified candidates may have the opportunity to interview and even receive a job offer on the spot. If you are someone who thrives in a hands-on, high-energy environment, this could be your golden ticket into the parks.

The Attraction Mechanic role goes far beyond basic maintenance. These Cast Members are responsible for keeping attractions operating safely and smoothly, handling everything from preventative maintenance to troubleshooting real-time issues inside the parks. Candidates should bring at least four years of experience in mechanical maintenance, including work with gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and ride systems. A valid Florida driver’s license is required, along with the ability to interpret schematics and work from blueprints.

The starting pay for this role is $29.59 per hour, and Disney is also highlighting its Disney Aspire program, which offers eligible hourly Cast Members 100% paid tuition for continuing education. Full-time roles require complete availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, since the magic never really clocks out.

The event will take place at 1515 E Buena Vista Drive in Orlando, with free parking available at the Grapefruit Garage. Disney recommends applying online ahead of time to help speed up the process, though computers will be available onsite. The full hiring process can take up to three hours, so plan accordingly if you are attending.

For those who cannot make it in person, Disney is also offering virtual interview options during the week, so there are still ways to get your foot in the door even if your schedule is tighter than a Space Mountain turn.
