Disney World Closure and Refurbishments for March 2022

March is here and that means spring is on its way! Even so, some refurbishments and closures are still happening at Walt Disney World this month. Here is the current refurbishment schedule.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Disney’s Blizzard Beach is closed for its annual refurbishment. The water park closed earlier this year and does not have a set reopening date. Based on Disney’s calendar, it looks like the park will be closed into April.

Walt Disney World Railroad

There’s no surprise with this closure. The Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom remains closed due to ongoing construction on the new TRON attraction. There is no reopening date on the schedule yet.

Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is currently closed for a lengthy refurbishment. The attraction was originally on the schedule to open in mid-April but as of right now, it is on the refurbishment through the end of April. It’s possible the closure could be pushed into May. It looks like the closure is for maintenance on the ride control system.

Souk al Magreb

Souk al Magreb, a shop in the Morocco pavilion in Epcot, has been closed for refurbishment for some time now. It was originally supposed to reopen in early February, but is now listed on the refurbishment schedule through April 23, 2022.

Resorts

Several resort pools are closed or will be closed this month. At Disney’s Art of Animation Resort the Schoolyard Splashground is closed until mid-March and the Cozy Cone pool is closed now until mid-April. Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas, the Samawati Springs Pool is closed now through April.

Other refurbishment is happening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Rooms are being updated and guests may see or hear construction during daytime hours. There’s no set completion date for this work.
