Have you ever wondered how African painted dogs communicate with each other? It depends on how far away the pack is from each other!
Painted dogs use high-pitched yips and squeals that can only be heard from a short distance away. If the pack needs to communicate over a longer range, they use “hoo” calls!
The pack at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is made up of six boisterous brothers—each with a personality of their own. From alpha male Oswald keeping everyone in line to little brother Bruce, poking his nose in everyone else’s business, the pack stays very busy!
Visit the painted dogs on Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or watch National Geographic TV’s Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Disney+.
