In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, Disney World cast members stepped up to help support the community by teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. According to a recent Facebook post from Second Harvest, Disney provided 14,500 meals tp Central Harvest, which were sent directly to the hardest-hit areas. The meals included a variety of options such as roast beef hoagies, kids’ meals with Uncrustables, and a plant-based choice, ensuring that all dietary needs were considered.

Hurricane Milton, which made landfall on Wednesday night as a powerful Category 3 storm, tore through Florida, knocking out power to more than 3 million customers and generating 150 tornado warnings. The storm’s destruction left more than 400,000 residents still without electricity five days later and caused significant damage to structures, including ripping off parts of the roof at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Tragically, at least 17 lives were lost during the storm’s rampage across the state.

In response to the devastation, Disney cast members worked closely with local nonprofits and state recovery teams to aid in the relief efforts. Their collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank exemplifies the importance of community support during times of crisis. Second Harvest, a nonprofit organization, plays a crucial role in feeding those in need across seven Central Florida counties—Brevard, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia. With Disney World located in both Orange and Osceola counties, the resort has long been an integral part of the Central Florida community.
