Disney World cancels Brightline Station at Disney Springs
Brightline has been working on a rail line to connect southern and central Florida for a few years. Recent changes to the proposed stations in Orlando have caused Disney to pull out of the plans. There will no longer be a Brightline station at Disney Springs.

“As many people who are involved in this project are aware, the new route configuration does not support a Disney Springs station and as a result, we don’t anticipate being part of this project,” Disney spokesperson Avery Maehrer told Orlando Business Journal.
The new route is expected to take Brightline along State Road 528 and Taft-Vineland Road — through the International Drive corridor — and down Interstate 4. The previous route took it down State Road 417 and bypassing the tourist corridor.

The 417 route (that Disney was involved in) was heavily criticized but the new 528 route has gained popularity. Universal Orlando has pledged 13 acres and money to the 528 route and a station in the Orange County Convention Center-area.
Disney has not shared any other information about pulling out of the project and Brightline has not commented either.
