Disney Treasure Leaves Meyer Werft Shipyard Toward Open Water for the First Time

The Disney Treasure, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, has officially left the Meyer Werft shipyard and is heading toward open water for the first time! This monumental moment was met with excitement as the ship was guided down the Ems River, passing by enthusiastic spectators who gathered to catch a glimpse of Disney’s latest vessel. The Disney Treasure is now on its way to begin a series of rigorous sea trials, which will ensure it’s ready for its highly anticipated transatlantic journey.

Under the leadership of Captain Marco, these sea trials will test the ship’s performance and safety, as the Disney Treasure prepares to welcome guests for magical adventures beginning in December 2024. The ship will sail 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, blending the spirit of exploration with the charm of Disney’s most beloved films and attractions.

But the Disney Treasure offers more than just voyages to exotic destinations—it promises an unforgettable onboard experience. Guests can look forward to immersive dining at three signature restaurants, including the “Plaza de Coco,” a two-night experience based on Disney’s Coco, as well as “Worlds of Marvel,” which features a new interactive adventure with Groot and Rocket. For fans of old Hollywood, the elegant “1923” restaurant serves up fresh California cuisine in a setting inspired by Disney’s earliest animated films.

The entertainment aboard the Disney Treasure is just as thrilling. Aboard the ship, you’ll experience Broadway-style shows like Disney The Tale of Moana and Beauty and the Beast, along with the exciting AquaMouse water coaster featuring a brand-new adventure, “Curse of the Golden Egg.” Families can also enjoy endless fun at Hero Zone, Sarabi, and themed lounges like the Haunted Mansion Parlor and Skipper Society.
