Disney to host Groundbreaking Ceremony for new residential community

Later this month, Disney will be hosting a special groundbreaking ceremony for its new residential community, Storyliving. The groundbreaking for Storyliving by Disney‘s Cotino community will take place on April 26 at 10 am.

This will not be a public event but the media will be there. Media invites were sent out yesterday. According to Dessert Sun, “Cotino is the premiere Storyliving by Disney development planned on what is currently called Section 31, a 618-acre project led by DMB Development that will include a 24-acre swimmable lagoon and resort hotel.”

This new Disney community, located in Rancho Mirage, will be the first of the Storyliving by Disney communities. These communities will be managed by Cast Members who deliver world-class service and fun.

Grading has started on the land and is expected to last nine to twelve months. The city has not received any building permit applications yet. The Disney community will need to be approved by the City Council but no date has been set for that as of now. The plan for the use of the land has been approved but the community will still have to go through an application process and secure approval.
