Disney Studios has purchased the rights to Jonathan Auxier’s “The Night Gardener”.  The story, which is a sequel to Auxier’s book, Peter Nimble and his Fantastic Eyes, is about 2 siblings, who orphaned are now servants at a scary, run down Windsor estate.  But nothing is what it seems to be – not the house or its occupants and soon the siblings are caught up in an ancient curse and dealing with a mysterious ghost.
Still in the early stages, Disney will be bringing in Jim Whitaker as producer and will be announcing cast and crew in the coming months.  Disney Studios recent remakes of the popular fairy tales have been very successful and welcomed with open arms, but I for one look forward to some original and new movies as well.
