Dean Jones former Disney star passed away from Parkinson’s at the age of 84. He starred in “That Darn Cat!” and “The Love Bug,” He became associated with Disney after he got a call from the man Walt Disney himself. He starred in a total of 10 movies for Disney.
He went to Ashburn College in Kentucky. He also spent 4 years in the Navy. He was signed to MGM right after leaving the Navy. He went on to marry Mae Entwisle, who was Miss San Diego, in 1954. They had 2 daughters. He then had a son with his second wife. He has a spot in the Disney Legends Hall of Fame.
Some of his acting credits include:
- A small role in Jailhouse Rock in 1957
- His Broadway debut in 1960 with Jane Fonda in “There Was a Little Girl.”
- “Under the Yum Yum Tree” also on Broadway in 1960. He also did a movie version.
- “Any Wednesday” also starring Fonda
- “Monkeys, Go Home”
- “Million Dollar Duck”
- “What’s It All About, World?” in 1969
- “Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo” in 1977
Fast forward 20 years and he had smaller roles in remakes of “That Darn Cat” and the TV version of “The Love Bug.”
Throughout the 70’s he appeared in quite a few Movies and TV shows.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, his children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
