Disney Springs Unveils Vibrant New Mural in Celebration of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month

Disney Springs is adding a splash of color and cultural celebration to its Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression with a stunning new mural by Miami-native artist Nicole Salgar. Titled “Viaje Despierto” (Awoken Journey), the mural draws inspiration from Salgar’s Colombian heritage and encourages viewers to embrace mindfulness and presence in their daily lives.

The vibrant artwork marks the 24th addition to the Art Walk, a popular attraction at Disney Springs Town Center where guests can stroll amidst a collection of captivating murals by local and international artists.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Artists

During the creation of “Viaje Despierto,” Salgar took the opportunity to connect with aspiring young artists from the Osceola County School for the Arts. She shared her personal artistic journey and inspired the students to confidently pursue their own creative passions. Following the workshop, the students enjoyed some of the limited-time offerings celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month at Disney Springs, including new menu items and VIP seating for a performance by Latin pop singer Drey-C.

A Celebration of Culture Across Walt Disney World

The new mural is just one of the many ways Walt Disney World Resort is honoring Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month, which continues through October 15th. Guests can savor Latin-inspired dishes at various dining locations throughout the resort (check out the Food & Beverage Guide for details!), sing along to their favorite tunes at the ¡Celebración Encanto! Sing-along at EPCOT, and enjoy special performances by the renowned Mariachi Cobre in the Mexico Pavilion.
