Disney’s Skyliner in Epcot is starting to take shape and we are getting excited! In this Skyliner construction update, we take a look at the progress over at Epcot. The station at Epcot is looking like it is nearing completion, at least from our perspective.
Don’t get too excited though, the project isn’t scheduled to be wrapped up until well into 2019. Once the stations are complete there will still be a lot of work to go. Still, things certainly seem to be progressing quickly. Stations and support beams are now visible throughout the resort.
When the highly anticipated Skyliner opens, guests will glide through the air in gondolas themed with favorite Disney characters. The gondola system will connect Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century, Carribean Beach and Riviera Resorts with Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests arriving at Epcot via the Skyliner will enter through the International Gate near the France Pavillion.
This new form of Disney transportation was announced in 2017 at the D23 convention and construction began shortly after. Though only a rough time frame (Mid-2019) has been officially announced it seems likely that it will be up and running in time to help usher the crowds to Hollywood Studios for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxies edge. Stay tuned and we will be sure to update you as the project progresses!
