Disney Reportedly Pushes Back Against Unauthorized Bob Iger Biography
A new report suggests that Bob Iger and The Walt Disney Company are gearing up for a behind-the-scenes battle, this time not in the boardroom, but on the bookshelf. According to Puck News, Disney has enlisted high-profile attorney Charles Harder to respond to an upcoming unauthorized biography titled The House of Mouse: Bob Iger and the Fight for the Soul of Disney.

The book, written by Robbie Whelan of The Wall Street Journal, is described as an in-depth and unfiltered look at Iger’s leadership, including his exit in 2020 and return less than two years later. Reports claim Harder has already sent letters to publisher HarperCollins, requesting details about the book and raising concerns about potential bias. While Disney is technically the client, sources suggest Iger himself may be closely involved in the effort, particularly given concerns about who may have contributed as sources, including former Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

Meanwhile, Iger is also working on his own upcoming nonfiction book, which is expected to focus on leadership during times of crisis. That project could serve as a counter-narrative to Whelan’s biography, especially as Disney has reportedly declined to participate in the unauthorized version. As of now, neither book has an official release date, but this publishing plotline is shaping up to be almost as dramatic as anything you would find on screen.
