Walt Disney Pictures released the teaser poster for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie today on the film’s official Facebook page. The feature length, stop motion film is based off of Burton’s 1984 short film of the same name. Frankenweenie, at its core, is the tale of a boy and his dog. A young boy named Victor decides to use science to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life. He tries to hide his creation but Sparky escapes and beings to wreak havoc on the town.
I love Tim Burton and I am really excited about this project. The film will feature the voice talent of several Burton film vets including Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands), Martin Short (Mars Attacks!), Catherine O’Hara (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice), and Martin Landau (Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow). Frankenweenie hits theaters October 5, 2012.
