It looks like Disney has struck up to new streaming deals with the two biggest streaming companies available right now: Netflix and Amazon Prime. This is great news for those who love to stream movies and ABC TV shows from home. Hit the jump for a full breakdown on the new partnerships.
For Netflix, this is a great sign as they’re trying to fight all the bad press they’ve had lately. This new deal is an extension of their previous deal, meaning Netflix can stream things like ‘Lost’, ‘Alias’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Private Practice’, and ‘Desperate Housewives’ for the foreseeable future. Also, any shows that are still on the air, thirty days after the shows season finale, that season will be available to watch on Netflix. Unfortunately, it looks like Disney’s animated films are still not part of the package and won’t be streaming anytime soon.
And now it looks like Amazon will have a very similar deal with Amazon. But with a difference in some of the programming. While they’ll both share things like ‘Lost’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, Amazon Prime will be streaming things such as ‘Phineas and Ferb’, ABC Families’ ‘Secret Life of an American Teenager’ and ‘Greek’, and Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘X-Men: Evolution’ cartoon series. This is all really great news for consumers, because now content of some of your favorite shows will be easier to access more then ever. I know I’m definitely excited about this. How about you? Will be using the streaming services more frequently? Let me know in the comments below.
