Disney Parks to Reveal Future Plans at 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan Event

This year’s D23 Ultimate Fan Event unveils the official details for its “Disney Experiences Showcase.” While fans might know it as the “Disney Parks panel,” the showcase encompasses the magic of Disney beyond the parks, including Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney.

D23 throws a nod to the past with “Horizons,” the name for this year’s Disney Experiences Showcase. While it might evoke the retired EPCOT pavilion, the title likely carries a metaphorical weight as well. Similar to last year’s “A Boundless Future,” these panel names shouldn’t be taken as a surefire hint of upcoming announcements.

The description of the panel reads:

“Join us on Saturday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Honda Center for an immersive celebration of Disney Experiences around the world. Accompanied by a special lineup of musical numbers, surprise appearances, and a few familiar faces, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro will host this exciting showcase, woven together by the theme of music. Throughout the show, fans can expect updates on new and highly anticipated projects across Disney Experiences, along with new ways for generations of fans to connect with their favorite Disney stories.”

Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Josh D’Amaro, recently fueled the excitement by promising news about “more than just Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.” This suggests updates on long-awaited projects like EPCOT’s transformation and Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ potential revamp. Speaking of those parks, fans are particularly eager for details on the “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain” expansion and the “Tropical Americas” project.

Beyond the domestic parks, the D23 Expo promises a global view. The “DisneylandForward” initiative and the highly-anticipated “Avatar” experience are just a few possibilities. With new Disney Cruise Line ships and international expansions on the horizon, the “Horizons” showcase is poised to be a treasure trove of Disney magic.
