This year, Disney is celebrating International Women’s Day on Broadway! Disney on Broadway has announced that it’s Women’s Day on Broadway series will continue this year. The send annual event is entitled Women’s Day on Broadway: Inspiring Changemakers.
The event aims itself to all genders to engage in open dialogue about gender equality in the theatre industry. Participants and audience members will partake in a series of conversations that empowers all in attendance to make an impact on one another.
Last year, its inaugural event celebrated stories by, for and about women. Notable speakers included Gayle King, Whoopie Goldberg, and Meredith Viera. This year the focus is on the makers of change within the theatre and entertainment industry. This year’s panelists and guest speakers have yet to be announced.
The event will take place on March 12th at the St. James Theatre. The theatre currently plays host to Disney’s newest musical Frozen, who just announced the first woman casting of Olaf. Anyone interested in attending can reserve their ticket free of charge via the Women’s Day on Broadway website.
