Disney Mousekeeper Caught Stealing from Disney World All Star Resorts Guests

All Star Movies

A Disney World hotel “Mousekeeper” has been charged after an undercover operation proved she was stealing from guests, authorities said.

Authorities said 29-year-old Bruna Francois was a Mousekeeper at All-Star Resorts and was stealing money out of rooms.

“There were several guests complaining there was money stolen out of their rooms,” said Osceola County sheriff’s spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain.

So Disney security and Osceola County Detectives set up a sting Tuesday afternoon inside a room. Investigators said they recorded Francois accessing a safe where they put $400 in cash. They said she then hid some of the stolen money in her cellphone case.

“She did not cooperate with the investigation and did not admit to taking the money,” said Lizasuain.

Francois was arrested and charged with theft by a hotel employee. She is suspended without pay.

I want to know how she got into the safes? I always use the safes, but never for cash. Now I will think twice before I use the room safe.

  1. Its funny to hear you say that because thats the exact opposite of what I was dealing with. I dont like someone comming into the room while I am not there, and they kept comming in for almost 5 days even thought every day I called and went to the front desk asking them to stop. Finally they had a “gift” delievered to the front desk for me and someone called to make sure no one had come in the remaining 3 days. As much as I would like to have my room cleaned every day, considering I am there only 8.5 hours a day to sleep and shower I dont want someone having access to my things while I am not around.

  2. There is probably some sort of “code” that can be punched in just in case someone locks the safe when they leave. She probably learned the code and used it to access the valuables inside. Disney is going to have to up their security.

  3. Such a shame that she is going to now make it hard for guests to trust the mousekeepers, you always get a few bad apples in a bunch. It’s bad enough that I worry about stuff being stolen out of my luggage from TSA.

  4. I always thought the safes were safe too. That’s scary I think I’ll really be taking advantage of the new luggage lock I have next month.

  5. Maybe they didn’t lock the safe. I mean why does the safe have to be cleaned? I stayed at All Star last year and I couldn’t even get my room cleaned. I had to call several times to have someone come back out. We wound up getting a room credit that’s how bad it was.
