Disney May Show Early Screening of Marvel Studios' Black Widow to NBA Players and Their Families

Disney May Show Early Screening of Marvel Studios’ Black Widow to NBA Players and Their Families. It appears Disney will be bringing plenty of activities for NBA players and their families to enjoy during their prolonged stay at Walt Disney World Resort for the 2020 NBA Season.

Reportedly, the teams will be staying at three different resorts at Walt Disney World Resort: The Grand Floridian, Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The new season will feature 8 games before the top 16 teams will participate in the playoffs until the 2020 Championship Game. The entire season will be played and filmed at the ESPN World Wide Sports in Walt Disney World Resort.

The players and their families will be kept in restricted areas of the resorts and parks that will be off limits to other guests and fans during their visit. The games will be played to audiences of staff members and the players families. No other fans will be permitted in the Sports Complex. It is also expected that private buses will be used to transport players, their families, and staff around Walt Disney World Resort during their stay.

The news for planned entertainment was shared with NBA and Disney insider Keith Smith via Twitter in a post that reads, “Per Walt Disney World Sources: Disney will make movies available for players and their families (once they join). This is likely to include movies that have not been released to the general public, including Marvel’s Black Widow.”

Though this is far from a confirmation by Disney or Marvel Studios, Black Widow was intended to release May 1st and is ready for theatrical release on November 6, 2020, but many fans are concerned that players, their spouses, and children will share spoiler for the film online, ruining the surprise in theaters for Marvel fans possibly 2-3 months before the films premiere.

As we know, Disney tends to adapt fairly well to change so if they deem it too risky to play the film early for such a broad audience they may abandon the idea, but it also makes sense that Disney would want to help the NBA incentives players to return for the shortened 2020 basketball season hosted in Walt Disney World.
