Disney, in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, recently revealed their prototype for a new smartwatch that actually interacts with real world things. It uses what they are calling “EM-Sense.” It can detect and recognize those unique EM levels when the person wearing it makes contact with an object. The human body is conductive and actually serves as a sort of antenna through which the signal travels. The signal is then sent to the watch.
However, Disney does not have it’s own watch so they used the Samsung Galaxy Gear for the demonstration. The watch would need some wiring to a sensor. So, it is not as easy as it sounds.
Some of the features are more fun the functional, but that is where the fun is.
We don’t know much about other features that it may have, but I would imagine there would be at least some practical and useful features that would make your life easier, if it becomes a reality.
What do you think?
Wishing you Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust
