A Storybook Surprise: Disney Ambassadors Deliver Magic and Books to Cast Member Children
In a heartwarming surprise to truly kick off the Season of Giving, Walt Disney World Ambassadors recently visited The Learning Center, Disney’s exclusive onsite childcare hubs, delivering pure story time magic! The visit underscored Disney’s commitment to supporting its Cast Members and inspiring the next generation of storytellers.
The young students—the children of the dedicated Cast Members who create magic daily across the resort—were treated to hugs, giggles, and a whole lot of pixie dust during a special reading.

Inspiring Kindness with the Orange Bird
The surprise didn’t stop there. To continue fostering a love for reading and inspiring future storytellers, Disney gifted hundreds of copies of The Orange Bird Golden Book to The Learning Center.
The story, celebrating themes of kindness, courage, and heart, was chosen specifically for its uplifting message and its connection to classic Disney Parks history. It was a golden moment that combined Disney nostalgia with a forward-looking commitment to early childhood education.

The Learning Center: A Magic-Maker for Cast Member Families
This generous book donation highlights the critical support system Disney provides its employees. For more than 20 years, Disney has offered childcare at two convenient onsite locations exclusively for Cast Members.
These centers, operated by the Central Florida YMCA, offer year-round childcare and seasonal camps. Crucially, they also provide financial scholarship support to assist eligible employees with childcare costs, ensuring that high-quality care is accessible.

The Learning Center allows Cast Members to focus on their roles across the parks and resorts, knowing their children are safe and cared for 365 days a year. “As a parent, having affordable, high-quality childcare right here at Disney has been life-changing,” said David Miller, Work Life Initiatives Program Manager. “Seeing those little ones graduate VPK in Mickey ears is something you never forget.”
This initiative perfectly embodies the spirit of the holidays, showing that Disney’s commitment to storytelling starts at the earliest age, right on Disney property.
