The Disney Fantasy rescued four Cuban men aboard a small raft near Key West, Florida after they signaled for help. The ship was on its way to Grand Caymen when the men were spotted.
The men were brought aboard the ship and were given food and water as well as medical attention. A Disney spokesmen said “We are proud of our Disney Fantasy crew members, who skillfully demonstrated their training and commitment to maritime protocols around saving lives at sea.”
It is not known what would happen to the men once the ship reached Grand Cayman. Disney did reply to Cruise Critic with the following statement, “We have notified the U.S. Coast Guard of this rescue and we are working with the proper authorities to coordinate the debarkation of the group … It would be up to those authorities to determine next steps.”
