Josh D’Amaro Shares First Look Inside the Disney Destiny’s Stunning Wakanda-Inspired Grand Hall
The newest Disney Cruise Line ship has officially made her grand entrance, and now we have our first look inside! Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro has shared brand-new photos from the Disney Destiny’s breathtaking Wakanda-inspired Grand Hall, giving fans a glimpse at the ship’s bold and heroic design.

In the photos posted Monday, D’Amaro is seen addressing the Destiny’s crew from the stage in the heart of the ship. The finished Grand Hall fuses elegant Disney Cruise Line design with futuristic touches inspired by Black Panther’s kingdom of Wakanda. Gold geometric patterns, sleek lighting, and intricate balcony details create a space that feels both royal and revolutionary — fit for a king (or perhaps a superhero).
Also visible for the first time is the long-awaited T’Challa atrium statue, standing proudly alongside a sculpted panther. This marks the first Marvel-inspired statue ever featured in a Disney Cruise Line Grand Hall, further cementing the Destiny’s theme of courage, unity, and adventure. Fans may remember Imagineers teasing this moment during the ship’s transatlantic “Crossing Diaries” last week, when the statue was seen mid-unwrapping.

Another image offers a stunning perspective of the upper-deck balconies overlooking the Grand Hall, showcasing the uniquely patterned railings and warm color palette that tie into the ship’s overall celebration of legacy and strength.
Finally, D’Amaro shared a glimpse into one of the ship’s new entertainment venues — the Lion King dinner show — featuring Cast Members dressed in vibrant, African-inspired costumes beside hand-painted wooden columns.

The Disney Destiny arrived in Port Canaveral on Sunday night and will be officially christened in a livestream ceremony on Monday, November 10. Expect this to be one of Disney Cruise Line’s most talked-about ships yet, blending heroism and heart in ways never before seen at sea.
