The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in CA, which has been hosting the “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives” has experienced an estimated 10 percent boost in attendance mainly attributed to the exhibit. At 12,000 square feet, this is the largest exhibition ever curated by the Walt Disney Archives as well as the largest temporary exhibit at the Reagan Library.
The exhibit, which opened at the Library on July 5th and will run thru April of 2013, features more than 500 artifacts from over 90 years of Disney history and is being presented by D23 – The Official Disney Fan Club. Exhibits include cartoon sketches, storyboards, costumes and movie props. Many items are being seen by the public for the first time.
Not only does the exhibit mean more revenue for the Reagan Library, but also more publicity. The Reagan Library has been recently visited by foreign television crews as far away as China and Turkey.
The exhibit has been so successful that the library has also offered special events surrounding its visit. A Haunted Halloween Celebration will take place on 10/26 with guests invited to dress up as their favorite Disney character. The library is also hosting Disney lunch/tours with featured Disney guest speakers as well.
