Disneyland Resort is not short of fantastic eateries. Our family’s itinerary often completely revolves around our dining reservations. With that said, you will definitely want to take note of the following restaurants and be sure that you are requesting reservations 60 days prior to your visit.
Character Meals:
This category of restaurants are the most important to schedule a reservation, especially during peak travel periods. Goofy’s Kitchen, Storytellers Café, and Ariel’s Grotto fill up quickly and far in advance. Minnie & Friends at the Plaza Inn and Surf’s Up! Breakfast With Mickey & Friends at PCH Grill aren’t much better.
World of Color dining packages:
Each restaurant that participates in the World of Color dining package has a limited number of passes they can give out for each show. Because of this, it is highly suggested you make reservations as soon as you can 60 days prior to your visit. This is especially true for Carthay Circle. Carthay Circle is one of the best restaurants in the entire resort, and reservations go quickly with or without the dining package. Other restaurants that participate in the dining package are Ariel’s Grotto and Wine Country Trattoria.
Other popular restaurants:
In addition to Carthay circle, other restaurants where you will absolutely need reservations are: Blue Bayou, Napa Rose, and with its immense growing popularity (and rightfully so); Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. These are some of the most popular table service restaurants on the entire resort, and walk-ins are very rarely accommodated. Café Orleans is a part of this list during peak travel times.
Downtown Disney restaurants:
Rainforest Café is always packed. During peak travel times, you can expect up to a two hour wait for a table. Reservations can be made by calling them directly at (714) 772-0413. Other restaurants you’ll want to consider reservations for are Naples Ristorante e Pizzera and Crossroads at House of Blues, especially on Sundays for their Gospel Brunch or other major music events.
Making Reservations:
You can make reservations at Disneyland Resort restaurants up to 60 days in advance from the day you want to dine. Unlike Walt Disney World, you do not get an extra 10 day grace period if you are staying on the resort. Reservations can be made through Disneyland Dining at (714) 781-DINE or online here.
