Disney is developing a new movie musical comedy titled ”Penelope”, which will be loosely based on the Princess and the Pea fairytale.
Details of the overall plot are being kept under wraps for now, but we do know Robert Sudduth writing the script, and Will Gluck is producing through his Olive Bridge banner.
According to Deadline, Penelope is still in early development and confirmed to become a theatrical release

Original music by singer/songwriter for the film will be written Ingrid Michaelson and Broadway superstar Larry O’Keefe.
The screenwriter, Sudduth, has worked extensively in television, most recently as a co-executive producer on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and the upcoming musical prequel on Paramount+, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.
We will continue to post updates on the “Penelope” movie when more information becomes available.
