Disney Destiny Earns a Spot on TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2026 List
TIME has released it’s selection of “World’s Greatest Places” for 2026 and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Destiny has made the list! The ship is included under the ‘Places to Stay’ section of the list and was one of only a couple of ships.
Every year, TIME curates its list of 100 extraordinary global destinations by gathering nominations from its international network of contributors and correspondents. Ranging from innovative hotels and cruises to must-see museums and parks, each selection is vetted through a rigorous application process. The final collection highlights the most exciting and relevant new experiences, offering a definitive guide of the best places to stay and explore.

The Disney Destiny marks a bold departure from traditional family cruising, greeting passengers with a Wakanda-inspired Grand Hall that sets a sophisticated tone. The atrium’s design pays homage to Black Panther with decorative metalwork mirroring Queen Ramonda’s crown and a striking statue of T’Challa. Having launched in November, this is Disney Cruise Line’s first vessel dedicated entirely to the duality of heroes and villains, integrating Marvel, Pixar, and Disney lore into every corner of the ship.
The immersive storytelling extends into the dining and lounge experiences. At the Worlds of Marvel restaurant, Rocket and Groot host a dinner service that blends on-screen adventures with interactive trivia. For those seeking a more mystical atmosphere, The Sanctum bar captures the essence of Doctor Strange, serving specialty cocktails like the Vapors of Valtor and the Mirror Dimension amidst an aura of sorcery.

Entertainment on board pushes technical boundaries, headlined by a new production of Disney Hercules. This stage show features a 24-member cast and a massive, technologically advanced hydra puppet, marking one of the most complex theatrical feats ever performed at sea. Guests can also interact with iconic figures like Loki, Cruella de Vil, and Maleficent as they roam the decks. Younger heroes ages 3 to 10 have their own dedicated space at the Marvel Super Hero Academy, where they can design suits and test their abilities in virtual missions.
The ship’s high-end offerings culminate in the Iron Man-themed Tower Suite, a sprawling two-story penthouse built directly into the forward funnel and serviced by a private elevator. While the Disney Destiny sails four- and five-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean, the real draw is the experience itself. It successfully bridges the gap between family fun and “superfan” luxury, catering to adult enthusiasts just as much as younger travelers.
