Disney Destiny Prepares to Set Sail This August with Heroic Flair and Villainous Style
Disney Cruise Line’s next sea-worthy star is almost ready to make waves! The Disney Destiny, the third ship in the “Triton” class and a sister to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, is currently in its final stages of construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. This 340-meter floating masterpiece is expected to begin its impressive 9-kilometer conveyance from the shipyard’s dock to the River Ems in August 2025, marking a major milestone on its journey to sea.

And oh boy, is this one shaping up to be amazing—quite literally. For the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a Marvel Super Hero will take center stage as the ship’s stern character: Spider-Man himself! Spidey and his Spider-Bots will be keeping a watchful eye over the seas as the vessel heads toward its new home in Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, where it will begin sailing this November.
From the North Sea to the Caribbean Seas
Once the conveyance is complete, the ship will undergo further interior outfitting at the shipyard’s equipment quay, where Disney magic will take shape behind the scenes. But the wait won’t be long—come November, Disney Destiny will begin offering 4- and 5-night voyages to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean, making calls at both of Disney Cruise Line’s exclusive island retreats: Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Heroes vs. Villains at Sea
What sets Disney Destiny apart isn’t just its ports of call—it’s the story it tells onboard. Imagineers and Disney Cruise Line creatives drew from some of the most iconic tales of heroism and destiny from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Disney Parks universes. The ship’s overall theme of “heroes and villains” will immerse guests in a high-stakes storybook experience at sea. Expect to encounter beloved characters—not just in décor, but also in lively encounters and entertainment throughout the ship.
Dining Destinies and New Experiences
Like its sister ships, Disney Destiny will continue the rotational dining concept that has become a hallmark of Disney Cruise Line. Guests will rotate through three story-driven restaurants, with the same personal service team following them each night. Familiar favorites like Worlds of Marvel (action-packed and interactive) and the elegant, Hollywood-inspired 1923 return onboard Destiny. But that’s not all—there’s a brand-new family restaurant making its debut, unique to this ship, with more details expected to be revealed as the maiden voyage nears.

But Wait, There’s More on the Horizon…
2025 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year for Disney Cruise Line—not just because of Destiny, but also thanks to the debut of Disney Adventure. Originally built as part of the Global Dream project for the now-defunct Dream Cruises, this reimagined vessel will begin operations out of Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre in December 2025, offering 3- and 4-night cruises throughout Southeast Asia. The Disney Adventure will be based in the region for at least five years, expanding the magic to even more corners of the globe.
With two new ships joining the fleet and an ever-expanding lineup of immersive storytelling and innovation, Disney Cruise Line is boldly sailing into a new era—one where every voyage is a battle of good vs. evil, told with heart, humor, and a healthy helping of Spider-Bots.
