Disney Cruise Line is number one cruise line brand!

Disney Cruise Line is the number one cruise line brand in 2016 according to Harris Poll’s 2016 Cruise Line Brand of the Year.

Disney knocked out last year’s number one, Royal Caribbean down a spot with Norwegian and Holland American Line right behind them. Carnival Cruise Line did not make the list at all.

Disney Cruise Line benefits from its ‘master brand’ equity and is the family cruise line of choice for Gen X and Millennial families according to vice president of brand solutions at Nielsen Holdings N.V., Joan Sinopoli. Nielsen Holdings N.V. is the owner of Harris Poll.

Sinopoli said:

“What’s interesting about cruise lines is that each generation has their favorite cruise line brand, Disney displays the highest brand equity among Generation X, which makes sense given it is the largest generation with younger children. Norwegian Cruise Line and its ‘freestyle cruising’ — with the freedom to dress up or down, no set dining times and no fixed schedule — is popular with millennials, and baby boomers bestow Holland America, known for its elegant yet laid back atmosphere, the highest equity ratings.”
