There is speculation going around that Disney might be purchasing a new 9000 passenger cruise ship that was started but never completed at the world-famous Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
The ship was originally started for the now-bankrupt Genting Hong Kong and according to News Reports, Disney might be completing the order.
The news was announced by the insolvency administrator for the shipyard where the vessel is under construction, Christoph Morgen. Global Dream would be completed at the MV Werften, where the ship could be under the direction of Meyer Werft in Papenburg, where Disney Cruise Line is already building the Disney Treasure expected to be completed by 2024.

If purchased by Disney Cruise Line the Global Dream would accommodate a maximum of 9000 guests (around 2500 staterooms), more than twice what the Disney Wish holds. It is expected that the Global Dream would stay in Asia where Disney Cruise Line currently has no permanent routes presently.
The Global Dream is about 75% complete and at this time Disney Cruise Line has not announced any details.
