Disney’s “Starlight” Parade to Pause for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Nights
As the highly anticipated “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” parade prepares for its grand premiere on July 20, 2025, Disney has confirmed an expected scheduling detail: the new nighttime spectacular will not perform on evenings when Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is taking place. This follows a previous announcement that the “Starlight” parade would also be absent during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights.

“Disney Starlight,” poised to bring a fresh wave of enchantment to Magic Kingdom with its twice-nightly performances, is designed to enhance regular park hours. To accommodate this new offering, Disney has already extended Magic Kingdom’s operating hours and has been diligently preparing the park. The parade’s debut has also led to changes in Annual Passholder park reservation rules, with the first day of performances already fully booked for Passholders.

While the specific dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2025 have yet to be officially announced, the event typically runs on select evenings throughout November and December. This hard-ticket, after-hours event offers its own unique holiday entertainment, including the beloved “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” which remains a highlight for party guests. Therefore, the decision to pause “Disney Starlight” on these specific nights ensures that each event maintains its distinct festive atmosphere and offerings.

Despite the temporary pauses for special ticketed events, Disney has reassured guests that “Disney Starlight” will continue its regular performances throughout the broader holiday season, allowing more visitors to experience its magic. Meanwhile, Magic Kingdom’s daytime parade, the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade,” will continue to perform as usual, providing a vibrant spectacle for guests visiting during the day.
