Five new installments of “Pass the Plate,” the acclaimed series designed to inspire good nutrition habits among kids and families, premiered last week on the Disney Channel. Hosted by teen actors Peyton List and Karan Brar (of Disney Channel’s hit series “Jessie“), the segments will rotate daily throughout Disney Channel’s programming schedule.
“Pass the Plate” began airing in 2008 as part of The Walt Disney Company’s ongoing commitment to help families achieve healthier lifestyles.
The new installments include visits to Brooklyn Brine and Eagle Street Rooftop Farm in Brooklyn, NY; Tiny But Mighty Popcorn in Shellsburg, IA; Penn Cove Shellfish in Coupeville, WA and Compass Green in Napa and San Francisco, CA. The series explores topics such as unlikely locations for farming and food development, urban gardens in small spaces, a multi-generational family popcorn farm, shellfish farming and how Greenhouse on Wheels brings farming opportunities to kids living in food desert regions.
Ron Pomerantz, Disney Channel‘s Vice President, Marketing and Creative, said, “The series starts conversations with kids and families about good nutrition all in an effort to help kids grow up happy, well-rounded and healthy.”
