Bob Iger Walks the Future Site of Disneyland Abu Dhabi as Project Moves Forward
The future of Disney magic in the Middle East just took a very real step forward. Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, shared a first look at the site of Disneyland Abu Dhabi after visiting the location in the United Arab Emirates. In a brief but exciting Instagram post, Iger shared photos of himself walking along the coastal site in Abu Dhabi, giving fans their first glimpse of where Disney’s next theme park will eventually rise from the sand.

The caption kept things simple but full of promise, with Iger noting that there is lots of work ahead and plenty to be excited about. While development on Disneyland Abu Dhabi remains in very early and preliminary stages, Disney has already confirmed that the park is targeting an opening sometime in the early 2030s. That puts this project firmly in the long game category, but seeing Iger physically on site makes it feel far more tangible than a press release ever could.

Details about the park remain limited for now, though Disney has previously indicated that this destination will blend Disney storytelling with local culture and architecture, much like other international resorts around the globe. For now, this quiet site visit serves as a reminder that plans are actively moving forward, even if construction cranes are still years away. One thing is clear, Disney’s global footprint is about to get even bigger, and the magic is already mapping out its future shoreline.
