Disney Cast Members say ‘See You Real Soon!’ to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Resort

Mickey’s Toontown at the Disneyland Resort closed this week for a lengthy update and re-imagining. The area of the park is scheduled to reopen in 2023, just in time for Toontown’s 30th anniversary. When it reopens, Mickey’s Toontown will include new play experiences for families with young children, grassy spaces for family play and parental relaxation, and a new attraction: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Disneyland Resort cast said a temporary farewell to the land, closed until early 2023, on its last day of operation. The cast-exclusive event included a ride on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin and Gadget’s Go Coaster, photo ops with iconic Toontown landmarks and citizens, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and even an unplanned dance party, led by cast members in the middle of the square.

Disneyland Cast & Community shared a video on Instagram about the Toontown “Farewell” Cast Event:

“Mickey, Minnie and their pals hosted a swell farewell party as cast members put on their best overalls and ear hats to have fun in Toontown one last time before it is reimagined! Thank you, Toontown! We’ll see ya real soon!
