Disney Blogging, Commenting, or Just Taking a Peek?

Not everyone has caught the Blogging bug. But just a quick review of the Net will show that millions have. In fact, it seems that Blogging has become an epidemic! Plug any Keyword into your favorite Search Engine, and you will be buried under thousands of possible places to surf.

If you’re reading this essay, then you are probably a Disney fan. Rejoice my friend; the Net abounds with Disney-themed blogs, websites, and video channels. I wonder what the average number of sites stored in the average Disney Fans ‘Favorites’ are? Ten? Twenty? Way more? And how many hours a day do we spend on these sites, either at home or at work?

Let’s just admit that it’s A LOT.

So are you Blogging? If not, are you commenting? Or are you just taking a peek? Let’s look at these three participation options: Blogging.

Blogging, or maintaining a website, is a huge commitment. To call it a labor of love is an understatement to be sure! Hours each day are put into researching, writing, formatting, and eventually publishing the content for these sites. At least some of the Blogger’s vacation time is spent in collecting interesting material for eventual inclusion on his or her site. And for the most part, these sites are free to the general public. Read: Us!

Commenting. Why bother?

There are many ways that a Blogger (or Website Host) can determine if his or her site is being visited. Most have some version of a Web Counter that keeps track of how many hits the site in question is getting by the day, week, month, and year. Most Web Counters can also tell the Host where his Guests are coming from, but without compromising the Guest’s privacy.

I think we all realize this, and so maybe we feel that a comment from us is not necessary. Perhaps we feel that our feedback won’t make a difference. Well, as a Blogger myself, I can say that this is certainly NOT the case!

Although Web Counters can give a Host the basic stats about his or her efforts, they can’t let him or her know if the content of the site is appreciated. Or what parts of the Site are more beneficial to the Guests that are visiting on a regular basis. Or, perish the thought, what the Guests don’t like.

Does commenting take too much time? On occasion, it can take a few minutes to set up a Profile. But after that is done, commenting is as fast as you can type! Or you can skip the Profile stage and simply comment as ‘Anonymous’. Whatever you choose, the outcome is always the same: A Host will appreciate your efforts!

Just taking a peek. Is that all you have time for? No problem.

The Point: In the end, it’s all about the fun! So Blog. Comment. Or peek. It’s up to you.
