Disney Bans Pictures and Video on Space Mountain in the Magic Kingdom
Disney is now banning pictures and videos on Space Mountain in the Magic Kingdom. Guests riding the roller coaster will notice new signage at the attraction explaining the new rule.

This new rule applies to any handheld items, loose articles, as well as items such as phones and cameras. All items need to be stored during the duration of the ride, in either a bag or the pouch attached to the ride vehicle.

The signage reads:
“Hand-held or loose articles, including cell phones and cameras, are not permitted while riding. Items must be secured on the person, in vehicle storage pouch, or left with a non-rider.”
It appears that safety is the main reason for this rule. There have been incidents of items being dropped while the ride is in motion. Dropped items could potentially harm other guests, especially on a ride where multiple coasters are moving at once. As of right now, this is the only attraction implementing the new rule at Walt Disney World.
