Aulani Visitors to Be Affected by Hawai‘i’s New Transient Tax

Starting January 1, 2026, the State of Hawai‘i is raising its Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) from 10.25% to 11%. This tax applies to all hotels, short-term vacation rentals, and timeshares. The current 3% City & County of Honolulu TAT and the 4.712% Hawaii General Excise Tax will not change.

When booking a room-only stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, please note that the updated 11% Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) won’t be reflected in your final booking price until the change takes effect on January 1, 2026. A notification about the updated rate for 2026 stays will appear during the booking process. All reservations made before the end of 2025 will still be charged the current 10.25% TAT rate, even if your stay is in 2026.

For room-only stays booked before January 1, 2026, for a travel date in 2026, the updated 11% TAT will be applied to your final bill. This means an additional 0.75% will be charged upon check-in or checkout.

For all Aulani packages that include add-ons like ground transportation or a Vacation Protection Plan, the new 11% TAT rate will already be included in your final booking price.

Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa will send you an email if your current reservation is affected by this tax update.
