Disney Adventure Departs Germany for Global Journey to Singapore
The newest crown jewel of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Adventure, officially began its highly anticipated global odyssey on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The massive vessel set sail from Bremerhaven, Germany, marking the start of a multi-month repositioning voyage that will ultimately lead to its new homeport in Singapore.

A Grand Departure
The ship’s exit from the German shipyard was a sight to behold, captured by maritime enthusiasts and shared widely across social media. The channel Unimedien shared sweeping footage of the ship navigating the port of Bremerhaven, while UNDERWAY USING ENGINE provided a closer, more detailed look at the vessel as it utilized its own power to begin the first leg of its journey.
This departure is the culmination of a complex construction and transition period. After floating out of the construction hall in Wismar, Germany, in late April 2025, the ship underwent 260 days of additional outfitting and rigorous sea trials. The project reached a major milestone on December 16, 2025, when the ship was officially handed over from shipbuilder Meyer Werft to Disney Cruise Line during a formal delivery ceremony.

The Long Way Round: From the Atlantic to Asia
While the Disney Adventure’s final destination is Southeast Asia, its route is taking a strategic path across the Atlantic. The ship is currently estimated to arrive in Freeport, Bahamas, on January 14, before moving on to Port Canaveral, Florida. These stops at Disney’s primary operational hubs will allow for final provisioning and crew training.
From Florida, the one-of-a-kind ship will continue its journey westward, crossing through the Panama Canal and traversing the Pacific. This historic trek is all leading up to its official 3-night maiden voyage from Singapore on March 10, 2026.
A New Chapter for Disney Cruise Line
At approximately 208,000 gross tons, the Disney Adventure is the largest ship in the Disney fleet and the first to be based permanently in Asia. Originally acquired as an unfinished hull, Disney has reimagined the vessel to feature seven distinct themed areas, including Disney Imagination Garden, Marvel Landing, and San Fransokyo Street.
Based at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, the ship will offer 3- and 4-night itineraries, bringing the signature Disney “resort at sea” experience to a brand-new region. With the ship now officially underway, the countdown has begun for its historic debut in Singapore this March.
