Summer at Disneyland is gearing up to be one of the best ones yet. With the reopening of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Pixar Fest and the brand new Pixar Pier set to open June 23rd, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
Let’s start with what’s new in New Orleans Square. For a limited time only, you can celebrating the relaunch of Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland Park. The Blue Bayou Restaurant has three new options to choose from now through June 18th.
The “Cursed Pirate” Fried Octopus & Calamari looks like it came straight from the movie! It is prepared with andouille sausage, rum-soaked pineapple, haricot vert, and remoulade.
The second dish is “Chicken Betty’s” Jidori Free Range Chicken. It’s made with coconut rice, ham hock, maque choux, fried plantains, and a spiced rum glaze.
After a hearty Pirates meal, you’ll have to try the new dessert option. Redd’s Strawberry Cake is a sponge cake soaked in strawberry compote syrup with candied strawberry, coconut Chantilly, and diced pineapple sautéed in brown sugar and vanilla bean. The absolute perfect way to round out the new Pirates of the Caribbean inspired offerings.
Two other Pirate offerings will be available only until June 10th, so you’ll have to hurry over to Disneyland Park to catch them. The Redd Velvet Cake at French Market Restaurant and the Golden Churro at the Churro Cart in New Orleans Square are incredibly tasty!
Guests of Disneyland Resort hotels can head down to any of the poolside bars for a new refreshing beverage and snack. To celebrate Pixar Fest, there are new options available that can’t be missed! At the Disneyland Hotel Pool Bar, you can get a taste of The Adventurer’s Spirit with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine, or the non-alcoholic Explorer Punch with pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, passion fruit, guava, and grenadine. The perfect pairing to these amazing new drinks is the Shrimp Tacos or an Island-style Hot Dog.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa has the Number 1 Fan available at the pool bar. With blueberry vodka, lemon juice, and strawberry syrup, it’s the perfect drink for a nice summer day.
There’s also the non-alcoholic Totally Wicked Punch with pineapple juice, pomegranate juice, soda water, and flavors of mango, guava, and ginger with a pineapple garnish. You can also grab a bite while you enjoy the beverages. Avocado Toast, House-Made Hummus, salads, sandwiches, or “Grand”-crafted Pizzas are always yummy pool side eats!
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel also has a few great options as well! The Forget-Me-Not with coconut rum, blue curaçao, piña colada mix, and whipped cream or the non-alcoholic Lucky Fin with blood orange syrup, orange juice, and nonfat yogurt mix perfectly with the sandwiches, flavored popcorn (dill, white cheddar, or butter), churros, and Mickey-shaped pretzels that are available pool side!
Also available at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is a brand-new dinner buffet experience coming to Disney’s PCH Grill. The experience starts on July 10 and guests can feast on the new Calitalian Dinner Buffet. This All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Italian buffet features Italiano dishes with flavors from the Tuscan countryside. You can build your own salad or choose from options such as Caprese Salad, Italian Panzanella Salad (with tomato, bread, cucumber, and pickled red onion), and Antipasto Salad. There will also be warm soup like Italian Minestrone or Cream of Broccoli.
There will also be a hot station at Disney’s PCH Grill. Dishes like Braised Lamb Osso Bucco, Slow-Baked Lasagna Bolognese-Style and Grilled Salmon Filet along with many others will be available. There will also be plenty of pasta on hand! Choose from spaghetti, penne, and macaroni with sauce options that include Bolognese, pesto cream, Alfredo, and Pomodoro sauce. The kids will enjoy Spaghetti with Turkey Meatballs, Grilled Hot Dogs, Steamed Corn on the Cob, Mac and Cheese, and Mozzarella Sticks.
What’s a great meal without a delicious dessert? Guests can choose from a variety of options such as Mini Verrines, pastries, Panna Cotta, Cannoli, Italian Rum Cakes, or my personal favorite, Tiramisù. These items are rotational and you never know what exciting new Italian eats you might find at Disney’s PCH Grill’s Calitalian Buffet!
Hurry on over to Disneyland to catch these amazing new foods and beverages as some will disappear soon!
