The transformation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially underway as DinoLand USA begins its transition into the highly anticipated Tropical Americas expansion. With demolition in progress, Dinoland U.S.A. has now been removed from both the physical and digital park maps, marking the end of an era for this unique area of the park.

On the My Disney Experience app, the digital park map now shows an empty space where DinoLand USA once stood, replaced by a forested motif of trees. Similarly, the updated physical park maps still label the area as DinoLand USA, but the detailed layout of attractions and landmarks has been replaced with the same tree design, signaling the land’s closure.
Several attractions and shops in the area, including Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, TriceraTop Spin, and Fossil Fun Games, closed over the weekend. However, some elements of the land remain operational. DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, and Restaurantosaurus are still open, with plant dividers set up to block off access to the closed sections. Disney has confirmed that DINOSAUR will remain open through the end of 2025, after which it will undergo a renovation to become an Indiana Jones-themed ride.

The Tropical Americas expansion, slated to open sometime in 2027, will bring both Indiana Jones and Encanto themed attractions and experiences to Animal Kingdom. We do not yet have a confirmed opening date for the land.
