Dig In to the Boba Fett Petit Cake at Disney Springs

Boba Fett Petit Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs

Soon after polishing off the premiere episode of “The Book of Boba Fett,” I also polished off a cake in his honor. Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs released a petit cake with layers of goodness in the shape of a familiar Mandalorian helmet. I never knew how good durasteel could taste, but if Boba Fett is a cake fan, I think he might consider trading his armor for a fondant version.

The outside is the spitting image of Boba Fett’s iconic helmet, complete with targeting rangefinder. The decorations are made of fondant. I will add that most of the people in my crew are self-professed fondant haters, but they enjoyed the flavor in this one. Amorette’s Patisserie flavors all the parts of the cake so you’ll want to eat the whole thing.

The cake itself is made up of chocolate chiffon cake, peanut butter and banana mousse, and peanut butter chips. I didn’t detect banana flavoring at all, but the peanut butter came through very well! I’m not usually a fan of chocolate cake, but the dominant flavor is peanut butter here. There are lots of smaller layers, making this cake moist all the way through. The peanut butter chips are only on one layer of mousse so it brings a bit of texture without being overwhelmingly crunchy.

My summation: this was a delightful little cake and one of the better chocolate cakes I’ve tried at Walt Disney World. However, at $22 it’s not a stunner. Considering how many other Disney desserts (which aren’t cheap, to begin with!) I could buy for that amount, I would say only serious Star Wars and/or cake fans should get this one. But isn’t he fantastic to look at? My compliments to the team at Amorette’s!

If you want to try the coolest cake in the galaxy, you can get it for a limited time at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs! And don’t forget to watch the first episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” on Disney+!
