Delta is Rolling Out Free Wifi Starting February 1st
Beginning February 1st, Delta is offering free Wifi on most of its planes! If you need to work or just want to send a few emails while at 30,000+ feet, you’ll be able to at no extra cost.

The announcement was made on Thursday at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. “It’s going to be free, it’s going to be fast and it’s going to be available for everyone,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian.
While it will be available to everyone, it will only be free if you are a member of Delta’s free SkyMiles loyalty program. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay a flat fee of $10. Travelers will be able to tell if their flight offers free WiFi by a decal noting it near the boarding door of the plane.
Bastian also shared that the airline invested more than $1 billion in Wi-Fi technology over the past few years. More than 500 of the airline’s domestic narrow-body planes serving the more popular routes will be ready for free WiFi when it launches on February 1st. Other planes, like international and smaller jets, will be ready by the end of 2024.
Delta has been working on offering free WiFi for years but needed to improve its technology so customers wouldn’t have to deal with slow internet speeds. The airline is expecting to add more members to its loyalty program by offering free WiFi and is hoping members will be more loyal to Delta.
