There is so much to do outside the theme park turnstiles at Walt Disney World. In this series I am going to highlight some of these awesome activities! If you have not already, feel free to check out my other articles in this series showcasing archery and boat rentals.
Today I am going to talk to you about renting bikes. Biking at Disney World is a fun and affordable way to see the sights and relax a little bit. Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of biking, but I do enjoy it at Disney. I think it is because the bike paths are not challenging and offer and easy way to cruise around.
If you are going to rent a bike you can choose between an hourly fee of $9.00 plus tax or a daily fee of $18 plus tax. At some locations you can also choose to try out a 2 or 4 person surrey bike ! Surreys are available for 30 minute rentals at a cost of $20 for a two person or $22 for a 4 person.
Helmets are included free of charge when renting a bike. It is important to remember that in accordance with Florida state law anyone under the age of 16 must wear a helmet.
Child sized bikes and bikes with training wheels are available so do not be afraid to request these things!
Bike rentals are available at many moderate and deluxe resorts including: Boardwalk Inn and Villas, Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside, Old Key West, and Fort Wilderness.
Go ahead and spend some time riding around the grounds! You won’t regret it and you won’t have to spend a fortune to participate!
