Darth Maul Disney+ Series Reportedly “In the Works” at Lucasfilm. Reports from inside Lucasfilm had indicated that the studio is extremely interested in developing a deeper dive into the story of Darth Maul from the Star Wars Universe (SWU). It’s well known by viewers of the animated shows and Solo: A Star Wars Story that Darth Maul survived his battle with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Phantom Menace, and has since gone on to become a key player in the Crimson Dawn criminal organization. Leaving plenty of room for storytelling to be had in a variety of mediums.

Previous reports had indicated that Lucasfilm was interested in bringing the character into the live-action stories for shows such as The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and with the potential to lead his own spin-off series, but now it seems the studio may be considering an animated adventure for the fallen Sith that would be featured on Disney+.
There is always the possibility that BOTH of these avenues may be explored by the studios, but as is protocol, the plans regarding Maul’s next appearance in the SWU is being kept a tight secret. This is a developing story, so be sure to check back here at Chip and Company for updates and all things Star Wars!
