Hopefully you have heard by now that Dapper Day is coming to the Magic Kingdom, in Walt Disney World this Sunday March 9th. We posted the full schedule of events HERE . It’s not too late to get your discounted print-at-home tickets, and they start at $59. You can get them HERE but hurry! Deadline for these is BEFORE Friday March 7th ! While we are on the subject, what is Dapper Day really all about, what should you wear, and what’s it really like to go? Word is getting out and it’s actually much easier to find the answers to these questions then it was in years passed.
The best description of the event comes from the organizers themselves. They will tell you that Dapper Day events at Disney parks celebrate the tradition of stepping out in style, and were partly inspired by the original Disney park designer’s illustrations which often featured sharply dressed guests enjoying the park. The gatherings are neither a strict period recreation of the past nor a costume event (there are many other gatherings for that). Dapper Day Events are meant to showcase you at your best, and all sophisticated fashions from vintage-inspired classics to chic contemporary looks are welcome. Active and retired military are encouraged to wear your dress blues if you like. During Dapper Day Events at Disney Parks, you bring those Imagineer’s illustrations to life when you become those well dressed guests the designers imagined (or hoped) would be filling the park. First-timers will experience a day in the park unlike any you’ve ever had! If you’d like to go deeper into this
explanation you can check out more details HERE. Knowing what to wear is pretty simple, actually. You can find inspiration from both amateur and professional videos that have been made from previous events! I will be there in person at the March 9th event and I plan on getting lots more video and photos for Chip & Co. – so stay tuned! Remember you can always accessorize with buttons, bags and more that are now being produced!
Dapper Day Tip! Due to the Magic Kingdom staying open until 1am on March 9th you can easily take a break with a cocktail at a nearby resort and head back to the park later. Resort guests will have park access until 2am! Happy Dapper Day!
